A wealthy handicraft center of Transylvania, the city of Brasov
dominated the economic life of the XIV-XVI centuries, witness
being the numerous buildings and architectural elements build
at the highest standards of the past times.
Some of these silent witnesses are nowadays beloved touristic
attractions: Bastionul Tesatorilor, Turnul Negru, Turnul Alb,
Biserica Neagra, Casa Sfatului, Sinagoga, Strada Sforii, Poarta
Schei, Poarta Ecaterina, Strada Dupa Ziduri etc.
